Common Mistake #3: Feeding The Procrastination Disease [Talking About Internet Business Without Really Doing It]

I hear all kinds of reasons why creative people in Africa are passing up the opportunities available on the internet
right now. They will tell you:
‘I don’t know what to do’ [but are not willing to learn];
‘I have no access to a fast computer’ [yet they browse with their phones all day reading gossips about
celebrities and the president’s latest scandal] ;
‘I really don’t have the time’ [though they just spent 4 hours visiting a friend and chatting about nonsense],
‘I am not convinced it will work’ [though they have never tired anything yet];
‘I am worried about people stealing my work online [though they have nothing of importance created yet]
‘I don’t think I will be able to collect my money from sales because PayPal does not allow Africans use their
portal’ [though they never bothered to ask about alternatives to PayPal]

Take your pick. Everywhere I turned people always seemed to find an excuse in Africa though there are people pulling in millions every year in the same continent doing internet business. I’m not saying you have to do this. After all, internet marketing is not for everyone. I’m just saying you’re missing out if you don’t.

The customers who could have found you via Google are finding other people. The bloggers who could have linked to your site are linking to other sites. The people who could have shared your stuff on Twitter are sharing other people’s stuff. The collaborators you could have met and worked with are having a blast working with other partners. And it’s not just about the money. You’re also missing out on a lot of new friends and creative inspiration. I’ve lost count of the number of interesting people and ideas I’ve encountered since I started marketing my business online.

How To Correct This Mistake:
Just Do it. Solve the Problems as you go. Find the time, or make the time. Learn the necessary technical stuff to
get started – it’s not rocket science, if an attorney like me can manage it, so can you.
Also, you need to learn what works, so you’re not wasting your time and energy. A good place to start is to
get the right training from the right sources. Some of the resources are free anyway on the internet and some you
may need to pay for by joining some online training schools. Whichever way you need to get the knowledge to start,
just start.                                                                                                                                                                                              You cannot start making money online until you start doing real business online. Nobody wins a race they did not compete in.
